Article writing and marketing has helped many people to get started online. Even though writing articles may seem daunting at first, once you get used to writing every day you will be amazed at how your business will grow. There are also many ways to repurpose your articles into products. This is how I first started making money online in 2006.

You can use your articles to promote affiliate products. In the beginning, when you have not yet created your own products, write articles and send people to someone else’s product through your affiliate link. I do this still with about a dozen affiliate programs that sell things I use and believe in. The topics vary, and I currently promote products in the areas of dog training, public speaking, relationship help, and internet marketing. Write about topics you are interested in and know something about.

Once you write three or four articles, combine them to use as your free giveaway when someone signs up on your blog or website. This will give you a way to start building a list. This is crucial if you want to make enough money to replace your current income, or even if you are only looking to supplement your current income.

Start writing every single day. Keep your articles short, less than three hundred words to begin with, and then submit them to the article directories. Soon you will have an inventory of writing that can be repurposed into short reports, eBooks, and workbooks, just to name a few things. You will also be seen differently by others in your field, because writing gives you the status of being an authority in your field.
